Dalaman is a district, as well as the central city of that district, located on the southwestern coast of Turkey, in the province of Mugla.
Dalaman Corriente (Dalaman çayı) forms most of the western boundary of the district, where its neighbors are Köyceğiz and Ortaca. The city of Dalaman is located on the coastal plain, while the rest of the district - towards the Fethiye District on the coast and towards the high mountains of the northern border of the province of Denizli - is the mountain, dominated by the valleys of the eastern tributaries of the Dalaman Stream.
Dalaman Airport is 5 km south of the city. Apart from aviation activities, Dalaman is home to one of the largest open prisons in Turkey, where the least dangerous prisoners are sent as part of their rehabilitation program. A state farm is present in Dalaman. Agriculture, particularly citrus, plays an important role in the local economy, since it is located on a fertile plain at sea level.
Dalaman has a hot Mediterranean climate. Summers are long and dry, while winters are short and cold. Dalaman is a very sunny place throughout the year.
