It has a characteristic of the synthesis of Aegean and Mediterranean climates by climate. The peninsula has a microclimate area. In summer there is almost no moisture. In winter, the humidity is very low. The summer months are hot and dry, the winter months are very warm and rainy. From 1970 until today, only snowfall was seen in February 2004 and the snow thickness was 5 cm.
The peninsula is very clearly divided into two as vegetation. At the west of the Bodrum-Milas motorway, the vegetation is covered with thorns and shrubs and thorny grasses, which are called "gangs" in the region. The part east of the highway is covered with coniferous red pine, wild strawberry, myrtle and sandalwood trees. 61.3% of the district land is considered as forest. However, a significant decrease in forest cover has been observed as a result of forest fires in recent years. There are no regular streams in the district.
